Student Survey Key to Strengthening Technology Education submitted by Alta Jo Longware on 05/09/2005
This month NYSTEA will be conducting both a Middle-level and a High School Technology Education Student Survey. Data from the middle level survey conducted in January of 2004 provided valuable information which was used to help preserve middle-level Technology mandates.

The data that is collected this year will reinforce the middle-level position and help strengthen the high school position of technology education with decision makers during the upcoming high school reform efforts.

Pick a survey day between now and May 26th to put on your calendar for your students to participate. They can easily log on to the survey using the links that are listed at the top of the Calendar & Events page. The Middle-level survey and High School survey are listed separately.

Be sure to let your students know which survey they should complete. The surveys will take only 10-15 minutes but it is one of the greatest contributions any instructor can provide for their own cause and for the cause of Technology education overall. It doesn't cost a penny but the results will be "priceless" as ultimate sources of support for technology programs at the local, regional, state, and national levels.

If your school internet filter blocks access to the survey or if you have any questions regarding the survey, please contact Charles Goodwin at cgnystea@stny.rr.com.

Thank you for your support in this effort.

Sincerely,

AJ Longware
