Making Compost in the Technology Lab Presented by Bill Lavin The presenter will demonstrate a student-centered activity that allows pairs of students to make their own one-quart container of compost by choosing, preparing, and combining ingredients from a menu of acceptable food, yard waste, and biodegradable items. They then follow the decomposition process over several weeks. This is a fun way to incorporate compost sustainability into your program. Use the compost as an amendment to a seed starting mixture. (Suitable for all grade levels) Program Time: Thursday 9:00 - 10:00 |
